🚨 Red Menace is back for Round Three from the NCMS Sustainment Accelerator in North Carolina!

So far, we’ve shared innovations from Lone Star NDE and KEYENCE that we believe could make a real impact in the NDT world. Today, we want to highlight RND Automation.

Yes—automation and AI have become buzzwords over the past few years. But the real conversation isn’t “what can it do?” anymore. It’s shifting toward “how can this be done?”

RND Automation demonstrated their automatic packaging systems, designed to detect the product type and package it consistently—every single time. This flexibility allows multiple product types to move through the same assembly line while still being handled efficiently. The result? Saved time, reduced material waste, and better use of resources.

So, where does NDT come in? While Red Menace is an NDT company (no surprise there!), the applications of this idea extend far beyond packaging. Imagine a system that could:

-Detect the product automatically

-Load the correct ultrasonic scan plan and technique

-Run the inspection with oversight from an NDT technician

Such a setup could eliminate the need for multiple single-product inspection lines—without the risk of using the wrong scan plan.
